Living with resolve
Resilience has been a buzzword for years—the idea of bouncing back, pushing through, and adapting to whatever life throws our way. And for good reason: resilience matters. It helps us recover from challenges, stand strong in the face of adversity, and keep going when everything feels impossible.
But as I reflect on the lessons of 2024 and look ahead to 2025, I realize I’m after something different. Resilience, while valuable, often focuses on survival—on making it through the storm. This year, I want to walk in resolve.
Where resilience is about recovery, resolve is about direction. It’s the clarity to know where you’re headed, the conviction to stay the course, and the intention to act purposefully in every situation. Resolve is not just about bouncing back; it’s about moving forward. It’s about deciding who you want to be and aligning your actions, energy, and choices with that vision, even in the face of uncertainty.
In 2025, I’m setting goals that reflect this shift. I’m asking myself questions like:
What am I committed to building, regardless of the obstacles?
How can I act with clarity and purpose, even when the path ahead feels unclear?
What steps will take me closer to the person I want to become, rather than simply away from discomfort?
This shift from resilience to resolve feels like reclaiming agency over my story. It’s less about reacting to challenges and more about proactively shaping my future. It’s about showing up each day with intention, trusting that progress—not perfection—is the goal.
As I take this journey, I’m reminded that resolve isn’t a solo act. It’s a practice strengthened by community, support, and shared purpose. My hope for 2025 is not just to move forward with resolve but to hold space for others to do the same.
